Beach Treasures
A chambered nautilus is one of the most beautiful shells, and a personal favorite. Living in New England, I am not likely to happen upon it on the beach. Next to the Chambered Nautilus lies a Mermaid’s toenail. I used to spend summers picking up these “Mermaids’ Toenails. I used to call them potato chips, as that is what they reminded me of. One day, when looking up shells, I learned its official name. It seemed so appropriate and so funny at the same time!
