Dreamboat

The piece “Dreamboat” is a bas -relief or low relief of a small sailboat called a Turnabout. I used to sail these with my brother in the summer. In this relief, the boat is positioned in the fastest point of sail, called a “run”. A run is when the wind is behind you, and you can fill your sails with the maximum amount. The boat’s mainsail and spinnaker are poised to catch the most wind, as it flies through the clouds. This metaphorical image illustrates that our dreams can be the fastest path forward in life.
